Item Description

Prospect Park is one of the most classic U.S. localities, and many east coast collectors recognize the specimens from the quarry as being some of the most recognizable and unique pieces from the New Jersey Trap Rocks. This is an attractive association specimen from the Brian Kosnar collection. Brian acquired the piece from New Jersey collector, Eric Stanchich, who obtained it from the Hobart Jones collection. There are dozens of golden-tan sheaves of Stilbite which are coating a single light yellow color scalenohedron of Calcite, along with a small branching bit of matrix that is dusted with white Laumontite. This quarry will soon be completely filled in, and will never yield any of these classic specimens again. A great association specimen from this amazing and historic New Jersey locality.
