Item Description

A hard to find Stilbite specimen from an undisclosed locality in Crook County, Oregon. A lovely group of sharp, lustrous light peach colored "sword"-shaped crystals of Stiblite free of matrix. The largest crystal measures 3.6 cm long. There are a few contacted crystals, but for the most part the piece is in great shape. I've never actually seen a piece of Stilbite labeled from this specific county in Oregon, so I consider it to be a rare locality specimen, and a worthwhile addition to a zeolite suite or a collection of U.S. minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2834). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
