Item Description

Stilpnomelane is an uncommon layered silicate, related to mica and chlorite group minerals. Lustrous, brassy, lathes, microcrystals and needles are richly scattered in the vuggy adularia matrix in clusters and as isolated crystals. This is showy and excellent combination material and is a very highly representative and uncommon from this well-known Norwegian locale. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
