Item Description

Stolzite is a rare secondary mineral in the oxidized zones of hydrothermal tungsten-bearing lead deposits. Yellow and yellow-orange, micro-blades of stolzite richly cover three sides of the black matrix. The matrix also has a sprinkling of sharp, tiny green botryoids of an unknown mineral. This piece is from a very uncommon, old lead, gold and silver mine with minor zinc in Idaho. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
