Item Description

Dramatic, sculptural, unusual and very colorful combination material from the famous sulfur mines at Racalmuto. Uncommon glassy, translucent, rich canary-yellow TABULAR sulfur prisms, to 2.2 cm, are aesthetically set on the sulfur matrix plate. The crystals are richly and preferentially peppered with tiny scintillating gemmy celestine crystals. Scattered clusters of tiny gemmy colorless aragonite scalenohedrons are a rare and fine accessory. The aragonites fluoresce pink. Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection and comes with an old Filers label dating from 1937 to 1949. Outstanding combination material.
