Item Description

Feldspar is widespread around the world, but the VAST majority of the material is opaque, or barely translucent. Gem quality Feldspar is exceptionally rare when compared to the actual amount in the world. When it comes to gemstones, one of the most exceptional things I have seen from the United States is Sunstone from Oregon. The amount of transparent, colorful stones seen from southern central Oregon is very impressive. This material comes in a myriad of colors ranging from yellow, orange, red, green and even blue in rare cases. Aside from the extremely rare blue variety, the most hard to find color of this material in good size stones is red. This stone has a "champagne" hue, which is most common for the material. This stone is a very nice quality, "Round Windmill" cut gem. Typically, many of the stones from this area have what is called a "shiller" which is a shimmer in the stone, but this stone is so clean that you can't really even see any "shiller". This stone is only very very slightly included, and looks very nice in any kind of light. Don't miss out on this great U.S. gemstone.
