Item Description

One of the most exceptional things I have seen from the United States is Sunstone from Oregon. Gem quality feldspar is rare, and to find material with strong colors is exceptionally hard to find. This material comes in a myriad of colors ranging from yellow, orange, red, green and even blue in rare cases. Aside from the the extremely rare blue variety, the most hard to find color of this material in good size stones is red. This stone has a beautiful champagne hue, with a slight peach overtone. The gem has a "Checkerboard Round" cut. Typically, many of the stones from this area have what is called a "shiller" which is a shimmer in the stone caused by metallic inclusions of Native Copper. This stone has a very slight amount of "shiller" which can be seen when the stone is rotated in the light. Don't miss ouf on this great, colorful U.S. gemstone.
