Superb Apatite

A superb, gemmy and lustrous, yellow-green, apatite crystal from the well-known iron mine at Cerro de Mercado. For the size, it is definitely one of the best ones I have seen and has a very modest amount of internal crazing. The crazing causes gorgeous, yellow-green rainbow effects in any light. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, a very trivial amount of termination edgewear is noted, but is certainly not a detraction. Ex John Ydren Collection and the Valley Art Shoppe label has a July, 1960 date on the back. Classic and outstanding material. 35 grams.
