Item Description

Pectolite is a member of the Wollastonite group of mineral species and is the calcium analogue of Serandite. Superb Serandites are synonymous with Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec and superb Pectolites are synonymous with the famous and now-closed Jeffrey Mine of Quebec. A stunning, sculptural, 3.0 cm high stacked two-sided "screen" of lustrous, translucent, pastel-green pectolite crystals dramatically rests upright on the blocky matrix covered with smaller pectolites. A super bonus is the bottom and one end festooned with more crystals, to 1.7 cm. The "screen" appears to be pristine and it resembles a Chinese jade carving. This is a superb two-sided specimen from the Charlie Key Collection and dates to the 1970s or early 1980s. VERY SELDOM available in this quality, richness and size of crystals! Valued at $600 or more for rarity and sharp crystallization of the species.
