Item Description

A VERY RARE and SUPERB pair of gem titanite crystals from an unknown Swiss locale. The supremely glassy, highly lustrous, yellow-green intergrown blades are both classic twins and have exceptional form, both individually and as a pair. Complete all-around and in very fine shape, overall. I am not expert enough to assign a locality, but I am sure some out there can readily identify which mountain this came from...! The bit of noted edge wear has minimal impact to the outstanding rare gemmy quality of these beautiful titanites. Very choice material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 3837 and acquired from Sol Shale's personal collection in the mid- to late-1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Value of such an outstanding Swiss rarity should be, in this kind of dramatic quality, well over $1000
