Superb multi-colored Tourmaline w/ Quartz (Smale Coll.)

A superb and aesthetic, old-time combination specimen from the famous Cruzeiro Mine and the Steve Smale Collection. A beautifully striking, angled cluster of flattened, water-clear, doubly terminated quartz crystals crowns, like an extravagant lady's hat, a gemmy and lustrous, multi-colored tourmaline crystal. The pretty bottle-green base grades up to a teal-blue zone below the highly interesting purple termination, which has a plethora of tiny, glassy, purple tourmaline needles! Complete all-around and pristine. Combination specimens of this amazing quality came out in the late 1960s or 1970s. Value? We think very fairly in the $300-500 range. Try to find another remotely like it from this renowned locale.
