Item Description

A killer cluster of two bowtie-like balls of very glassy and gemmy, rose-brown to tan, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite from the recent, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. The balls rest on a hidden shard of matrix and the smaller clusters are a super accent. This is a exceptionally fine example from this find and it really glows a beautiful rose-red with good light. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
