Superb Vanadinite (NEW FIND)

Item Description

Superlatively sculptural and aesthetic two-sided vanadinite from NEW 2019 finds at this less well-known older Ag-Pb mine. Striking burnt-orange to orange-brown, highly lustrous, hexagonal vanadinite prisms are dramatically clustered and isolated on the front of the piece. The large central crystal is 1.5 cm long. The paired crystals in the middle, offset crystal on the right and smaller crystals at the base add fantastic pizzazz to this side. The back is distinctively different and just as striking, with the impressive central cluster of lustrous, orange-brown prisms, to 1.7 cm long. All of the major prisms have hoppered terminations, adding even more artistic beauty to this exemplary miniature. The San Carlos Mine was intermittently active from the late 1800s to 1952.
