Item Description

Here we have a great old time set of 6 individual Sussexite specimens showing great fibrous form. These specimens are among some of the most easily recognizable minerals from all of Franklin. With over 380 species from this historic mining district, this one was actually named after the county where the Franklin Mine is located. An attractive set of specimens of this well-known material, some with minor associated red Zincite and black Franklinite. It's important to note that so many of the species from Franklin are micros, it's nice to have a box of specimens that you can see with the naked eye. These specimens date back to the 1950s and are from the collection of Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for Kosnarite), who has born and raised in northern New Jersey.
