Tantalite ps. Microlite (very rare)

Item Description

Highly unusual and rare pseudomorph from the Shigar Valley of Pakistan. A sharp, well-placed, 1.6 cm Microlite octahedron has been pseudomorphed by metallic luster Tantalite. The hole in the crystal face adds much character. The pseudo rests on the sculptural, undulating matrix of sugary Muscovite and Adularia. Microlite is a member of the Pyrochlore Supergroup. Both species contain Tantalum. From a very small find made in the summer of 2007. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock and valued highly for rarity, from a single one-pocket discovery circa 2000.
