Item Description
Tanzanite is one of the most popular gems in the world, and fine crystals are fast becoming some of the most desirable gem crystals in the world. This piece is a beautiful, sharp, lustrous, gemmy Tanzanite crystal from this world famous locality in the Merelani Hills. The crystal is notably tapered on the termination and exhibits slight pleochroism with a fine blue hue when viewed from the side, and then purple can be seen when looking across the other direction axis. The upper front edge of the crystal is slightly contacted, and the piece is not complete on the back, so it's not completely damage free, but it's still a nice example of these famous crystals.
