Tanzanite is among the most popular colored stones in the world. The beautiful color of the material combined with the fact that it is only found in one place in the world keeps the demand high worldwide. Typically, most people associate Tanzanite with the colors blue and purple, but there are several shades of less common material including pink, yellow, orange and green. This "narrow emerald" cut gem has a unique color combination, showing primarily a green hue, but you can see one end has more of a blue tone, and the other end is trending towards more of a yellow shade. This combination of colors is due to the strong pleochroism of the material, which shows defined color changes when the pieces are viewed on a different axis. A rare example of Tanzanite in terms of the unique coloring, and a great piece to add to any suite of Tanzanite gems or multi-colored stones.
