Item Description

A classic and very showy, two-sided, CABINET plate from the famous Mina del Cobre at Concepcion del Oro. Clusters of sharp, lustrous, metallic-gray, tennantite-tetrahedrite crystals richly and aesthetically cover both sides of the milky quartz crystal matrix. Interesting crystal chemistry here, as the crystals are much larger on one side. This is outstanding, older material from this historic mine and comes with two older labels, one from Tucker's Rocks & MInerals in Newcastle, Oklahoma, just southwest of Oklahoma City! The Tucker label has the $45 price. Quite pricey for the time! This must certainly date to the 1950s or 60s. Ex Wes Parker Collection.
