Item Description

Tenorite, an uncommon Cu-oxide, is RARE from the famous and historic Au-Cu-Zn deposits at Ekaterinburg. The curved thumbnail crust of tenorite is altering to bladed green malachite on this extreme rarity. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7138 and acquired from MacDonald at Tucson in 1974. Comes with a John Albanese label. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Rare, undoubtedly old-time material from Russia.
