Item Description

Everybody know that the Sweet Home Mine is famous for its world-class Rhodochrosite specimens, but a lot of people don't pay attention to the excellent quality sulfides found at this locality. The most significant sulfide species in this mine is Tetrahedrite. Some of the best crystals of Tetrahedrite from any US locality have actually come from the Sweet Home. This specimen features excellent, well-formed, steel-grey crystals of Tetrahedrite measuring up to 1.5 cm on edge with good luster and sharpness sitting atop gem quality, colorless "needle" Quartz crystals on matrix. If you look closely, you can actually see a small amount of epitaxial iridescent Chalcopyrite coating select faces of the Tetrahedrite crystals. A really choice quality, damage free display specimen that would make a fine addition to any suite of sulfides, Colorado minerals or specifically material from the Sweet Home. Price at $1,750 in the inventory.
