Item Description

A VERY hard to find Tetrahedrite specimen from the Stahlberg Mine in Musen featuring sharp, brilliant, lustrous, well-formed, silvery colored, metallic, modified tetrahedral crystals measusring up to 1.1 cm on a layer of drusy Quartz on matrix. The crystals are not pristine as you can see from the photos, but this is the ONLY specimen of this material that we've ever seen, and a search online produced only one other result that was dull, and NOT on matrix. If you collect sulfides or old German minerals, don't miss out on this attractive piece from this lesser known mine in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7255). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
