Item Description

A must have specimen for any Mexican or sulfide collector. This is the first specimen of crystallized Tetrahedrite that we've ever had to offer from Naica. Even though the species is not particularly rare around the world, specimens from this world famous locality are virtually unheard of on the market. This piece features classic, sharp, metallic, steel grey colored tetrahedral crystals of Tetrahedrite measuring up to 1.1 cm on edge sit among thin crystallized Quartz crystals on matrix. Excellent condition overall, very little damage. One simply cannot find a piece of this material anywhere on the market, and as I said, it's a great piece to check a box on your list of species from Naica or worldwide sulfides. Valued at $750 for the rarity from the locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8519). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
