Item Description
OUTSTANDING pseudomorph of pink Thenardite after Halite. The three generations of original Halite are expertly replaced by the Thenardite, right down to the hoppering of the larger crystals, which range up to 1.3 cm on edge. I think the aesthetics of this pseudo are superb, partly for the amazing variations in form, as well as the even, attractive coloration. Do please remember that Thenardite, like many of the rare or common evaporites, can be water sensitive. Formerly in the extensive collection of W & A Cook.
