Titanite (doubly-terminated twin)

There are a few localities in the world where fine quality gemmy green twinned Titanites can be found. Places like Capelinha, Brazil; Tormiq, Pakistan or various localities in the European Alps come to mind, but the lesser known Ankarafa locality in Madagascar has produced some excellent examples, though in limited quantities. This miniature specimen features a fantastic, sharp, lustrous, vibrant green colored, thin, wedge-shaped, doubly-terminated twin of Titanite measuring 3.1 cm long, associated with minor additional Titanite crystals, plus a bit of pale beige-pink colored Feldspar on matrix. The main Titanite twin is rather gemmy when backlit. A few minor nicks can be seen, but the piece is largely in fine condition. This piece is actually from a recent find (end of 2022), and is one of the better matrix examples we've ever had to offer in the auctions. Valued $1,000. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen.
