A flattened group of translucent, gemmy Titanite crystals with sharp, lustrous faces and an interesting form. When backlit, you can see color through the crystals. The piece is from Baja California, Mexico (labeled as coming from San Quintin), and is an unusual example of the material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#4202). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). A beautiful and attractive piece from this unlikely locale.
