Item Description

In the gem world, Titanite is often referred to as "Sphene" but this is an archaic term, and not the correct name for the species. Although both name are generally accepted in the gem and mineral world, I've noticed that "Sphene" is more commonly used in the gem world and Titanite is used for crystallized specimens. One of the great aspects of faceted Titanite is the incredibly high dispersion of the material This gem is a beautiful golden-orange color, very slightly included "Trillion Brilliant" cut gem, but the best aspect is the fact that it shows high dispersion when rotated in the light (best viewed in sunlight). The photo doesn't show it very well, but there are little bright green, yellow and orange flashes that are best seen sunlight. This is one of the few Pakistani Titanites that we've had to offer in the auctions, and would make a great addition to any collection.
