Item Description

It should be noted that in the gem world, you may see these stones labeled as "Sphene", but mineral dealers will label it by its species name Titanite. Although the name "Sphene" is an outdated term, it still gets a lot of use in the gem world for whatever reason. The best stones shows a brilliant array of color flash, and look best in sunlight or sometimes under mercury bulbs. This is a beautiful faceted gem of Titanite (Sphene) from Pakistan with excellent brilliance/dispersion, and a fantastic "Round Brilliant" cut gem with a bright beautiful yellow gold color, and very very slightly inclusions. When you rotate the gem in SUNLIGHT, you can see the high dispersion, but it doesn't come through as much in photos, but you can see bright red, green and orange flashes in person. There are not many places in the world where good gem quality Titanites are found, and this one would make a great addition to any collection.
