Item Description

Todorokite is an uncommon and complex Oxide species { (Ca,K,Na,Mg,Ba,Mn)(Mn,Mg,Al) 6O12 ? 3H2O }, which derives it name from the Todoroki Mine, Hokkaido, Japan. The species is found in various worldwide localities, including the famous Franklin Mining District in New Jersey. This piece features dark purplish-black color, crystals of Todorokite with white Calicte and black octahedrons of Franklite. The piece came to Rich Kosnar from noted New Jersey collector Pat Gross, and her original colorless plastic mounting box accompanies the piece. A cool specimen of this classic material.
