Item Description

Excellent topaz specimens are well-known from this topaz-baring rhyolite. This is a very aesthetic thumbnail specimen of jackstraw cluster of wonderfully sharp crystals on a nicely-trimmed matrix. The crystals are in pristine condition, and all the terminations are complete. The crystals are extremely gemmy, with portions being included by hematite, giving them their rust color (which is typical for these, but often you do not see the nice gemmy sections that you do here). The longest crystal, doubly terminated, measures 2.3 cm and has a contact at the lower end, but no damage, per se. Choice material from 1990s finds from the Herb Obodda dealer stock.
