Item Description

One of the great old European classics are the famous yellow / golden Topaz specimens from Schneckenstein in Saxony. These pieces have been known for centuries, and you will see them appear in the old lithographs among the standard representations for Topaz (along with those from the Urals in Russia) in the world for that time. This beautiful small cabinet hosts several fine quality, very sharp, lustrous, GEMMY, yellow to golden colored crystals of Topaz measuring up to 1.7 cm long sitting among colorless, prismatic Quartz crystals on greisen matrix. Please note that the arguably best Topaz crystal can be found on the side of the piece, but it's very good quality and impressive. I can't see any real damage of note with the naked eye, just a few tiny imperfections on one of the Topaz crystals that you really can't see without a loupe. It's not easy to find showy matrix specimens with multiple crystals like this anymore on the market, and it's important to note that these crystals are the classic YELLOW hue and not the less desirable colorless material. Priced in the inventory at $3,500. The piece comes with old labels from Giancarlo Fioravanti and Wouter Van Tichelen.
