Item Description

An impressive, 7.7 cm, gemmy/translucent gray-green orthorhombic topaz crystal with a striking modified chisel termination is aesthetically set on large matrix accented with a string of smaller topaz crystals on this dramatic large combination from the well-known Zapot pegmatite. The topaz at the other end is 2.5 cm high. The feldspar matrix is partially pretty blue amazonite and fields of tiny lepidolites are a nice accessory. The inside corner of the large topaz is gently bruised and part of the outside corner is dinged. The 2.5 cm crystal is complete all-around and has only a gently bruised tip. These are certainly only minimal detractions to this very fine large combination. Rich golden-yellow fluorescence is an unexpected surprise on this dramatic piece. This is an uncommon and outstanding combination example of this style from the Zapot with several display views. Ex Madrid Collection. Valued at $1000-1250.
