Item Description

This is an old locality piece from the 1960s, a rare African blue topaz. Although contacted on the back, it?s not cleaved as most of them are, and displays well from the front angles as shown. This attractive topaz is very rare, and much gemmier and more intensely blue in person. Few Brazilian blue topazes can match this blue color intensity, in my experience. They remain a unique and little known find from Africa, but to thos ewho recall them coming out, they had a deservedly good status in the collecting community!
