Topaz (rare material) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Topaz crystals are known to come out of New Zealand decades ago, but are rarely seen on the market today. This piece is a sharp, glassy, colorless, well-formed, orthorhombic crystal of slightly etched / stepped Topaz from an undisclosed locality in New Zealand. The crystal is nearly 100% water clear, and would make a great addition to a thumbnail collection, a suite of gem crystals of a collection of minerals from New Zealand. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#9702). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
