Item Description

A historic and excellent, old-time combination specimen from Northern Ireland. A 5 mm, sharp, colorless, gem topaz crystal with a textbook chisel termination is aesthetically set deep in a cleft and is surrounded by sharp, glassy, smoky quartz crystals to 1.1 cm and sharp microcline crystals. The matrix is mainly coarsely crystalline microcline with a bit of quartz. This showy, old, classic is from the Colonel Joseph Neeld Collection (which resurfaced in England in the early 1980s), and dates to about 1800. Rarely on the market. Valued at $250.
