Item Description

Very pretty, gemmy and lustrous, blocky orthorhombic, bi-colored prisms of topaz are very aesthetically clustered on two sides of the volcanic tuff matrix. These specimens are perhaps the most well known topazes from Mexico, due to their easily recognizable form and strong reddish-brown color. The topaz crystals reach 2.1 cm and this large crystal has a striking knob of hyaline opal on the tip and has surreal lime-green fluorescence! These are certainly unique in my experience, and very attractive, even in smaller specimens such as this one. Classic material from the Dave Stoudt Collection.
