Item Description

A beautiful, showy, three-dimensional classic sherry colored Topaz specimen from Pakistan. For a few decades, Dassu has produced some of the finest Topaz specimens from any locality in the world in terms of color, crystal form, quality size and gemminess. The attractive, and superb quality cabinet piece hosts several excellent, very sharp, rather gemmy, highly lustrous, soft golden-sherry colored prismatic crystals of Topaz which are associated with attractive, slightly smoky colored, very sharp, lustrous prismatic hexagonal Quartz crystals plus "flower"-like groups of white bladed Albite (var: Cleavelandite) and minor bladed Muscovite The terminations of the Topaz crystals are smooth, glistening and undamaged. The largest Topaz crystal is actually DOUBLY-TERMINATED and measures 3.3 cm and the big Quartz group at the top of the piece measures 5.8 cm. The piece honestly looks better in person than the photos might indicate, and I encourage you to check out the video for this listing to get full effect of the piece. You don't see nearly as many of these pieces from Pakistan on the market as compared to a few years ago, and a highly displaybale and top quality piece like this is certainly desirable from this well-known locale in the high mountains of Pakistan. A fantastic gem crystal display specimen for any collector. Please note that these Topaz crystals can fade to colorless when exposed to sunlight, so it should be kept out of the light if possible to help retain its color. Valued at $8,000. From the collection of Richard A. Kosnar, one of the most well-known and successful mineral dealers / mineral collectors of his day and the namesake for the phosphate species Kosnarite.
