Tourmaline (bi-color)

Not only is Tourmaline a highly colorful gem, it's one of the few stones that is found in naturally occurring bi-colored (and sometimes multi-colored) material. Here we have a beautiful bi-color green and pink Tourmaline gem from Brazil. The stone is 100% natural, no heating or treatment of any kind. About 2/3 of the stone is a wonderful pink hue, and the other 1/3 is a lovely green color. It has an "Emerald" cut with only very slight inclusions, which is perfectly acceptable, because Tourmaline is classified as a Type-3 gemstone, which means that inclusions (even small ones) are typically present, and accepted by jewelers, collectors and dealers, so the inclusions in this gem would not be as frowned upon as they would in another stone.
