Item Description

Tourmaline is one of those minerals that is widely adored. They are certainly among the most popular species for collectors, and no matter how many one encounters, a good one will always draw attention. This small cabinet specimen features a few beautiful crystals with a striking color combination featuring a stunning teal/blue color at the terminations that grades into black at the base. One of the crystal shows a slight purple hue when backlit (see photo). The largest Tourmaline measures 3.6 cm long, and they are sitting on a matrix composed of white bladed Albite (var: Cleavelandite) and translucent, prismatic Quartz crystals, plus a few crystals of Muscovite Mica here and ther. There are a lot of Tourmaline crystals on the market from all over the world, but this one is different along with being eye-catching. To the best of my knowledge, the find of these crystals was very limited and I have not seen any of them available from the Pakistani dealers for quite a while. An unusually colored and attractive gem crystal specimen, and one of the FEW MATRIX pieces I've seen from this find. Minor damage, so the piece isn't perfect, but still important for the locality, as these are not easy to find on matrix. Priced at $950.
