Tourmaline & Calcite (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

Dravite-schorl Series tourmalines are known from the famed Panasqueira Mines, but specimens are seldom on the market. A 1.7 cm vug and a smaller adjacent vug are lined with tiny, gemmy, brown dravite needles. The mounded mixed sulfide and quartz matrix is aesthetically and richly covered with clusters of porcelaneous calcite rhombs as a fine contrast on this showy, excellent and uncommon example from the Art Soregaroli Collection.
