Tourmalines are some of the most diverse and popular gems out there. This particular gem was cut from a piece of rough found a few years ago in Brazil. The stone shows a beautiful, flashy blue-green color and just shimmers in the light. This stone was cut a few weeks ago by Allyce Kosnar of www.minclassics.com and the cut is a "Modified Round Brilliant". The gem is very well cut with only very very slight inclusions. Tourmaline is classified as a "Type 3" gemstone, as inclusions are almost always present, and accepted by dealers and collectors. I have to say that these stones are becoming harder and harder to find these days with so much gem Tourmalines coming out of Afghanistan and Africa lately. This stone is valued at $670 retail, and is probably going to be a GREAT bargain one of you lucky bidders.
