Item Description

A wonderful old-time Tourmaline crystal mined in the 1970s from the famous Golconda Pegmatite Field in Brazil. The piece has a unique shape, as it's compressed on one side showing a distinctive trigonal prismatic habit, and when it's backlit, you can see a deep rich green hue throughout the majority of the crystal, with a saturated blue color on the termination. The piece is in good shape overall, though a little rough around the base of the piece, so it's not completely pristine. Specimen weight is 30.54 grams. These old crystals are a not terribly common on the market and are a great example of the type of Tourmalines that were coming out of Brazil at the time. Valued $750.
From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
