Tourmaline (rare color)

Tourmalines are beloved by dealers and collectors for their intense colors in various shades. Nigeria has produced some top quality Tourmalines in recent years, including some of the most interesting PURPLE stones that I've seen. Here we have a nice purplish-pink Tourmaline with excellent size, color and cutting. The stone is obviously included, but it's the color that matters here. It has an artistic "Freeform" cut and would look nice set in jewelry. Purple Tourmalines can retail for over $400 per carat, but this stone is valued lower due to obvious inclusions. It should be noted that the Nigierian material seems to have dried up on the market, and good gems are becoming less common on the market these days.
