Item Description

The famed Himalaya Mine in San Diego County, California has produced some of the most well-known polychrome Tourmaline specimens from any US locality. Every now and then the crystals are sliced and polished to better show their beautiful internal coloring. This piece is a most unusual example as it featuring colors and patterns unlike anything I have seen in a Himalaya Tourmaline crystal. This polished slice shows small patches of rich pinkish-red "Rubellite" surrounded by pale pinkish light golden-yellow throughout the rest of the piece. The periphery or "rind" of the piece is complete all around, with no damage. A gorgeous example of these well-known and notably colorful Tourmalines in a strikingly odd color combination. From the collection of Brian Kosnar, purchased originally from Don Olson.
