Item Description

A striking, sculptural, well-striated tourmaline crystal cluster with beautiful pink color, extreme glassiness and translucence. This very rare and excellent assocation piece features a multitude of gemmy, sulfur-yellow, stibioatantalite crystals (a rare antimony oxide with tantalum and niobium). Most of the crystals appear as nubs buried underneath the drusy, pastel-pink lepidolite that preferentially coats the termination, one side and a couple of other spots. The buried stibiotantalite crystals impart a unique yellow tint to the pink tourmaline! The large exposed stibiotantalite crystal is 4 mm. Unknown, black, oxide crystals (tantalite-(Mn)?) are peppered on the lepidolite and add character. An extremely rare and beautiful combination specimen from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Pristine. Valued at $1000-1250. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!!
