Item Description

Campolungo is the type locality for Tremolite, and good matrix specimens like this are few and far between. This piece features lustrous, prismatic, "needle"-like crystals of white Tremolite in radial "sprays" on fine grained white Dolomite matrix. This is typical material from Campolungo, and would make a great addition to any European collection or a collection of minerals from the type locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6009). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
