Item Description

An unsual and hard to find specimen of crystallized Tremolite on matrix from an unknown locality in Vermont. The label says it's from a place called "Smith", but I can't find any listing for this locality. Perhaps it was found near the birthplace of Joseph Smith the American religious leader and founder of Mormonism and the Latter Day Saint movement. With that said, this piece featurea pismatic "spray" of Tremolite measuring 4.0 cm sitting on granular iron-stained Quartz matrix. The Tremolite shows soft blue and green hues. Odd material, and if anybody out there can help us with the locality, please drop us a line. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11882). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
