Item Description

Here we have an attractive "nugget" of Turquoise from the Apache Mine on Turquoise Mountain in San Bernardino County, California. The piece has a soft blue color with minor attached matrix. You don't see many pieces of loose Turquoise from this locality on the market, and this particular piece was mined in the early 2000s. For reference, this locality has the distinction of producing some of the most interesting Turquoise specimens in the world as many of them actually form pseudomorphs after Beryl. If you look online, you can find examples of excellent hexagonal crystals of what were once Beryl that have been pseudomorphed into brilliant blue Turquoise.
