Item Description

The sculptural, blocky sandstone matrix is richly sprinkled with cluster of tiny, sparkly, olive-green volborthite blades and a very rich and bright dusting of canary-yellow, discrete, microcrystals of the uranium oxide tyuyamunite. Volborthite is an uncommon hydrated copper vanadate secondary mineral found in the oxidized zones of vanadium-bearing hydrothermal deposits. This showy specimen is a highly representative combination piece featuring these uncommon species. Valued at $250.
