Item Description

Rare old-time blocky intergrown borax crystals have been pseudomorphed ulexite, the so-called TV rock, from the famed Boron pit. Both crystals in the shapely pair are terminated and one has a RARE twinned termination. Sharp, well-formed borax crystals are rare, in themselves, from Boron. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 801 and acquired in trade with Jack Schwartz in the 1950s, with the low collection number. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A rare, excellent perhaps UNIQUE Boron pseudo. A must for the pseudo, species or locality collector.
