Umbalite Garnet

Garnets are beloved for their wide range of colors, durability and good sized stones. While Garnet are typically recognized as red gems, you can literally find them in every hue (including very rare blue stones). Here we have a wonderful Umbalite Garnet, which gets its name from the Umba Valley in Tanzania and is defined as a mix of Pyrope and Almandine. The stone has a wonderful pink color with a slight reddish overtone, with an "Oval Brilliant" cut and nearly eye-clean clarity. Excellent color for Garnet, regardless of the species/variety.
